Products produced in the capital area can appear almost anywhere.

Visit an exotic place where you may jump the island on a Twin Otter plane built on the Saanich Peninsula.

Hiking boots made by Viberg can be strolled along the streets of New York or Tokyo.

Loot fish from the Bahamas or Haida Gawa can land with Islander scrolls.

You may be on a train in Beijing, and some of its automation features are designed and manufactured in the middle of Sanic.

While everyone seems to agree that manufacturing is a big part of big Victoria's economy, it is unclear how important it is.

That is why the Greater Victoria economic development agency and other organizations are conducting a comprehensive survey to understand the achievements and values here.

Results are expected this fall.

Most local manufacturing companies are small in size and supply niche markets.

Many are specialized and part of the technical department.

It is estimated that there are 120 manufacturing companies in the region.

In the Sanic peninsula alone, the department's annual revenue is estimated to exceed $0. 65 billion, and the salary of 0. 11 billion front-line employees is $2,200.

The development of manufacturing is an evolutionary process.

Every enterprise has its own way of starting a business and growing up.

Financing can come from friends and family, banks or angel investors. Some make it. Some don’t. Post-

Secondary schools have trained skilled workers and served as greenhouses for new companies.

Preferential tax rates, through the tax credits of industry training institutions, flourish naturally

Resource industries such as India and China and neighbouring markets support manufacturing.

But there are also challenges, including the return of provincial sales tax last year, currency fluctuations and competition in other jurisdictions, which provide a huge incentive to attract investment.

Gold is the flagship color '.

'The company, owned by Jack Foster, is part of JS Foster, a Saanichton company that produces mechanical components for several industries --

From Undersea instruments to high

Pressure gas systems and aerospace parts.

With 12 employees, the company produces complex, sophisticated parts using lathes and milling machines, and produces design and design components from the prototype stage to the final mass production.

Islanders produce 22 models of reels sold through distributors in Canada and the United StatesS.

Most customers are in both countries, but there is also demand from other countries.

Some customers like to buy them on occasion such as birthday and anniversary and engrave them.

The recommended retail price for flight reels is $340 to $825.

And center-

Prices range from $425 to $650.

The revenue details are confidential, but 'sales are strong,' Williams said. ” (

So far, 65 pairs of otters have been produced since 2009.

Increase confirmed orders, and the total number of orders sold to 26 countries reached 100.

24 custom aircraft will be built this year.
