Injection Molding is one of the important process in rapid prototyping.

There are many kinds of injection molding: PIM (Plastic Injection Molding), MIM (Metal Injection Molding) and GIM (Glass Injection Molding). However, the most common process we use is Plastic Injection Molding to make Plastic Products.

About the basic process:

1. Make a metal mold of product.

2. Heat the solid plastic into a plastic liquid

3. Inject plastic liquid into the metal mold

4. Open the mold and take the product out

The advantage of Plastic Injection Molding is once the mold is made, the product can be produced very quickly in high volume production runs. Color can be changed easily. This is an ideal process for making (10,000 to 100,000) parts.
