Quality control in CNC machining

2025-02-10

Quality control in CNC machining is a critical aspect of ensuring that products meet design requirements. The main content of quality control includes: preparation before machining, monitoring during machining, and inspection after machining.

CNC machining

In the preparation before machining, ensure that the machine tool, cutting tools, and workpiece are in good condition. The machine tool should undergo regular maintenance and calibration to ensure its accuracy and stability. Tools should be selected with appropriate materials and geometries and installed correctly. The workpiece should be properly clamped to avoid vibration and deformation during machining.

During the machining process, closely monitor the machining status to promptly detect and address any abnormalities. Common monitoring methods include using sensors to measure cutting forces and vibrations, using cameras to observe the machined surface, and using software to analyze machining data. Real-time monitoring allows for the timely detection of issues and the implementation of corrective measures.

In post-machining inspection, use various measuring tools to inspect the workpiece to ensure its dimensions and shapes meet design requirements. Common measuring tools include calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Through rigorous inspection, product quality can be ensured, reducing rework and scrap rates.
